Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale, popularly known as the SM Boss, has renewed his demand for a public apology from the Economic and Organised Crime Office> (EOCO) following the seizure of his yellow Lamborghini.

The musician has maintained that the incident caused unnecessary public embarrassment and damaged his reputation, insisting that the anti-corruption agency must address the matter publicly.

Background of the Seizure

The controversy began after EOCO reportedly confiscated the luxury vehicle as part of an investigation linked to suspected financial crimes. The yellow Lamborghini belonging to the artist quickly became a trending topic across social media, with fans and critics debating the circumstances surrounding the seizure.

However, Shatta Wale has consistently argued that the action taken against him was unjustified and that the authorities failed to provide adequate explanation before the car was taken.

Call for Accountability

Speaking on the issue, the dancehall artiste said he still expects EOCO to render an apology, stressing that public figures should not be subjected to actions that could damage their image without clear justification.

According to him, the situation not only affected him personally but also fueled negative narratives about his brand and business ventures.

Public Reaction

The incident sparked widespread debate within Ghana’s entertainment space, with members of the Shatta Movement backing the musician and calling for clarity from the authorities.

Others have argued that law enforcement agencies must be allowed to conduct investigations without interference, particularly when financial crimes are suspected.

Ongoing Debate

While the matter continues to generate public discussion, Shatta Wale has reiterated that he will not let the issue go until EOCO acknowledges the impact of the seizure and apologizes.

The development once again places the outspoken artiste at the centre of national conversation, a position he frequently occupies through his music, lifestyle, and outspoken commentary on social issues.
